Peterborough Reintegration Services (PRS, formally Peterborough Community Chaplaincy) is a non-profit organization that seeks to help former offenders reintegrate into the greater Peterborough Area with success and without further victimization. Our organization is based on a foundation of Restorative Justice. We believe that every offender deserves an opportunity to rebuild the trust that has been broken between the community and themselves after a crime has been committed.
PRS strives to build a safer community by surrounding former offenders with a team of volunteers and staff that are committed to holding the offender accountable for behaviours, and building long lasting, healthy relationships based on a foundation of trust. We strive to achieve this goal through our work at Haley House, a dignity enabling home environment for senior and palliative offenders whose health can no longer be managed in federal institutions. We work alongside Corrections Service Canada (CSC) to ensure the safety of the greater community while providing end of life care to our residence.
Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA, a second program run and organized under PRS), is a volunteer based program that works solely with high risk sex offenders in the Peterborough Area. CoSA understands that sexually based crimes carry an enormous weight in many communities. We look to ease community concern by working with former offenders (called Core Members) who are looking to rebuild trust, gain insight into victim impact and those who are committed to our mission statement No More Victims.
